The purpose of the Atlantic Seed Association Grants Program is to encourage and reward the advancement of agriculture and horticulture in the three primary seed industries of the Associations’ focus, Flower & Vegetable seed, Farm seed and Lawn seed.
The Atlantic Seed Association’s Grants Program was created for the benefit of assisting those who provide information, technology, services and support to our industry. Grants can be used for research, equipment, providing education and anything else, determined by the Grants Committee, which accomplishes the purpose.
Grants are available to land grant colleges and universities, extension service, experimental stations, state seed associations, other industry related associations and not for profit seed organizations represented (located) in the 13 states of the active members of the ASA.
The Atlantic Seed Association Grants Program is supported by membership donations, fund raising activities including special gifts from individuals and companies.
Annually, the executive committee decides the amount of grant money, if any, available to award. The determination of grant recipients would be made a committee comprised of the President, Vice-President and 2 members of the executive committee elected by the executive committee. The grants would be awarded on the basis of merit and need, and equitably to each primary seed industry mentioned above.
Those interested in seeking a grant should fill out an application describing the expected accomplishment.
Applications are accepted until May1st and award decisions will be made by June 30th.
